Good to see another Lexingtonian in here.

As others have said, there are a lot of good low/middle shelf pours out there and we are fortunate in that they are almost all available here. I would also add Elmer T Lee, Evan Williams Single Barrel, Elijah Craig 12 yr, and Four Roses Yellow Label to the list of good value pours.

Can't say too much on ryes. I like Rittenhouse, but have found it to be a little variable. Sazerac and Willett are good for the price too.

Wow, I appreciate all the greetings and the good, quick feedback. I am especially pleasantly surprised not to see suggestions for Makers, Beam and other such heavily marketed (though not necessarily bad) bourbons. I think I'm gonna like it here.

Any suggestions for some ryes? I saw a bottle of Rittenhouse the other day for sale that I almost bought on a whim, but there seem to be mixed reviews about it. Should this be my first foray into ryes?

Hey, Bing. Welcome aboard. Just wanted to comment on your rye journey. The Ritt is a wonderful rye to start with. And, I'm not a big fan of it either!! Acually, I'm one of the few who don't adore it, but those who do, do so for good reason. Because it's great! Make sense?? Personally, I just find it too bourbon-y, and prefer my ryes with more of a whallop. Schmack!!! But, I always have it on hand, and would never turn a pour of it down. For my mid-$20 rye though, I go with Baby Saz.

Welcome aboard! In addition to the ryes mentioned already, I'll add Willet 5yr Rye (or 4yr) & any number of High West Ryes (Rendezvous, Double Rye).
