Re: limited to the best sellers, what to choose?

I have done this before and I will do it again: JD all the way. The earthiness in Jamie is a turn off to me and Jim Beam white is just too young. The Lincoln county process really rounds out JD's younger profile making it much more pleasurable despite its simple character. Plus I drank JD for 6 years before moving on. It was my first so you can't beat nostalgia. I am sure most of you would groan if you were offered that selection but I would be thankful that the bar had some brown stuff. Many people I know have an aversion to it.

Wow. Jim Beam white label isn't phenomenal, but it isn't terrible.

It was the bourbon at my wedding (back before I found SB.com), so if it was good enough for delivering toasts and speeches then, it's good enough for me to drink when it's the bourbon on offer.

I would have gone with Jack Daniels, straight up. As a second choice, Jameson. I used to drink my fair of Jim beam white, mostly with coke, and it has this very distinct, yeasty/doughy/lemony thing I can't quite pin down that's just such a beam-ness. I abhor it most of the time, now. Either I have to be in the right mood, or it has to be in the background enough.

I would have picked Jameson, too. I like it now and then, but not enough to keep a bottle on hand, so I would have taken advantage of the opportunity.

Life's too short, and there's too much good whiskey within reach.

That's the way I see it, an opportunity, I can have Bourbon anytime.

    Jameson

I quite like it with ice as a summer-time alternative and infrequently drink it that way in bars and restaurants.

Probably the JD, although if the mood took me, Jameson's isn't too bad.

Agree with these. Why have Jim Beam white while out, when I have an assortment of better stuff at home? Might as well go with Jameson for something different.
