We need a secret board to talk about the good stuff.
We'll simply rename this one StraightBourbonSupreme.com.

Review (And be forewarned, I'm a novice at this type of stuff)
Color: Tea. With a slight orange tint
Nose: Hot. Alcohol. Slight orange. Rye. Spices. Maybe vanilla.
Taste: Rye upfront. Some heat. I read one review said potpourri...I can taste that. Some more orange and citrus. Sweet and thick yet dries up quickly in the mouth.
Finish: Stays with you and tingles the lips. Leaves some heat, but not ovepowering. Some char & oak too.
Verdict: Wow. This is some good stuff. My mainstays have been Weller 12 and 4RSmB...gonna have to make room for this on a regular basis. I wasn't that impressed with OGD BiB, but, as the old Texas rancher who let me hunt his property this year said, "This is good sippin' liquor."
I guess y'all might as well let me know what the OGD 114 club secret handshake is.

That will be after the imitation ceremony.
That's the wheater crowd.
I finally caved in and got a bottle of OGD114. I was highly reluctant because the bottle of OLD 86 tasted like sewage and I was afraid that at 114 proof, that sewage concentrated would probably make me puke. To my surprise it was excellent stuff, especially for the price!
What I want to see someone do...is water down OGD114 to 80 proof and see if it truly does taste like Basil Hayden. Also, it would be curious if at 86 proof, does it taste like classic OGD 86?

Bmac, Hayden and Grand Dad are designed to different flavor profiles and watering down Grand Dad does not a Hayden make. The older National Distillers version of Grand Dad is not exactly the same as Beam's expression but the family resemblance is there and close enough to call the difference slight.
