Re: 1 year till prohibition, what would you stockpile?

I get the sense that the government would probably go out of it's way to discourage "stockpiling," if a true law was passed banning alcohol. You would probably be best served by buying bottles in a large quantity of purchases of small amounts spread out between as many stores as possible. A barrel purchase would probably draw unnecessary eyes upon you if consumption or possession was banned.

Portwood, I'm by no means a prohibition history buff, but I don't think consumption was ever illegal. I think it mainly focused on the manufacture, selling, and transportation of alcohol.

Not to put a damper on all the planned stockpiling or anything ...
During prohibition the manufacturing, sale and distribution of alcohol was illegal but not the use. So whatever you had prior to prohibition you were allowed to keep. You could also get whiskey prescribed by doctors. A lot of stubbed toes during the 20's
I've got more whiskey than I need but not nearly as much as I'd like

I have enough to keep me going for a while. Still, there's this one store that I know of that has twelve or fifteen cases of ........... Ahhhhhh, never mind.

Cases of OWA, 4R OBSK and OESO, OGD 114, Ritt BIB, and as much GTS and WLW as I could find. I'ld have to stock up on several cases of rum also.

lol i have no idea what all these abbreviations are. For me, i still think Makers Mark is an easy and pleasant enough drop, so quite a bit of that. Then some Russells Reserve and maybe some Bookers and Blantons (I'm down under though, so choices would be a little different if i lived stateside).

This is an easy one for me....I've got more than I will drink for the rest of my life so no need to stock anything else.

Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Even if I have to water it down a little to stretch a bottle longer it will still taste great!
If you have anything Michter's or Pennco and would like to sell it or share it with me, please let me know.
