I'd be in the market for some OWA.
Let's be realistic, everyone would get cases of the BTAC or PHC collections, but they are not available.
Load up on handles of EWB, clean the shelves out of FRYL and VOB BIB, pick up some HW Double Rye, and spend the remainder of cash on Glenmorangie 10 and Johnny Black.
It depends, will they still have some brands available as 'medicinal' whiskey? I'm grabbing all of the Four Roses and BIB brands that I can find.
Oh, and a case of Maker's Mark. Not because I want to drink it, but because it will be great fun to lord it over the die-hard MM drinkers.
I am joining in the Four Roses club.
Going to get several barrels of each recipe. Then have Jim Rutledge pick me some cherry barrels for special occasions in the single barrel version and have him mix me up some premium small batch as well.
Best regards, Tony
As much weller 107 and 12yr as i could afford. I'd have a basement will a couple pallets stacked high before it was all said and done. After that i'd go for variety...

Go to the bank, take out as many second mortgages as possible and then buy everything in site. Sell for 2x day after prohibition starts. (don't forget to supply the chief of police amply.)

So many considerations. How much can I afford to budget over 12 months toward a permanent bunker? What's going to go fastest and first, what will be left close to the final day? Most LE bottles from 2012 are gone and the 2013s won't show up for another 5-6 months.
I could probably come up with a budget around $5,000...
10 Cases HH BIB 6yo - $1200
5 Cases OWA - $1350
5 Cases OGD114 - $1350
$1000-1500 budget to grab every limited release bottle I can find, then pick up some Booker's or Baker's if I've got anything left.
But that plan would only work with a few lump sum expenditures. Most likely it would be a random mishmash of nearly everything at the store. EC12, WT101, FRSB, etc. etc.
Dumb question time ... during last prohibition was it illegal to possess alcohol - even if acquired prior to prohibition?
Not to put a damper on all the planned stockpiling or anything ...![]()
I like the 'buy a barrel or two' idea -- and unoriginally, I'd tag along with hectic and hit up 4R. and lots & lots of Ritt BIB.
