    Enjoying some EC12BP, and it is everything I hoped it would be The non-chill filtering is very evident - clouded up more than anything else I've ever owned, but still was lovely (not that it wasn't nice neat)

    I was reminded by Youngblacksmith in another thread about one of my dusty faves...a Distilled 1964/Bottled 1971 Old Charter 7yr BIB, and I realized it has been some time since I visited that bottle. Where the heck has this puppy been hiding? Sipping on it now, I remember why I love it. Huge, huge, spiced corn husk from nose to palate. But, it's not a raw taste. Rather, it's like it's been baked...Tastes bolder and even bigger than its 100 proof. Oily, viscous, and thick. The finish is full of an oak and tanned leather. Just, a gorgeous whiskey. A prime example of a bourbon whiskey from an era that is just...different than today. The embossed bottle, with satin ribbon, and old-timey label is a great presentation, as well.

    The weather has started to turn for the better here in Ohio. So, a little bit of one of my favorite warm weather drinks. Mellow Corn. Its almost time to refrigerate my other favorite, HH BIB white label.

    I poured a couple oz of Old Taylor to start the night, but half way through I added some Rendezvous Rye to the glass-- nice combo.
    The buttery smooth OT took the edge off the sharp rye flavor of the RR.

    Went with a blend tonight. Maybe a 1/2 ounce of EWSB 02 left in the bottle, and decided to toss in some OFBB 12 to round it out the Glencairn.

    Not a bad combination if I do say so.
