I hope you get some. It's a quality pour at a good price ($20.00 here) and I like it better than Maker's. So did my (unexpected) guests. Personally, OWA is my favorite mid-shelf wheater. ETL is up there too for ryed bourbons.

So the mighty Larceny couldn't quite take over OWA for you, huh? OWA is a favorite of mine as well, but Total Wine just bumped the price from $18.99 to $21.99. $3 isn't much in the grand scheme of things, but mentally, it kinda kills the 'value' for me.

Had a nice full Glencairn of ECBP with just a splash while watching the Derby today.

Late night --- Just had generous pours of KC:SB and WT Rye 101 while watching the Red Dawn remake.

That movie is much better than it has any right to be.

Wow - OWA tends to run $23-$26 here in Atlanta. I also prefer OWA over Larceny, although the proof difference doesn't make it a fair fight But the rebate also makes Larceny a steal for now!

A little PHC 10 124.3 and WLW 134.8 prior to the morning coffee. Damn the 134.8 is powerful but I think the PHC 10 was more enjoyable. Maybe the WLW will cool off as it gets oxygenated a bit.

Here's the reference, the opening paragraphs of the article which was published in 1970:

"I got off the plane around midnight and no one spoke as I crossed the dark runway to the terminal. The air was thick and hot, like wandering
into a steam bath. Inside, people hugged each other and shook
hands...big grins and a whoop here and there: "By God! You old
bastard! Good to see you, boy! Damn good...and I mean it!"
In the air-conditioned lounge I met a man from Houston who said his
name was something or other--"but just call me Jimbo"--and he was here
to get it on. "I'm ready for anything, by God! Anything at all. Yeah,
what are you drinkin?" I ordered a Margarita with ice, but he wouldn't
hear of it: "Naw, naw...what the hell kind of drink is that for
Kentucky Derby time? What's wrong with you, boy?" He grinned and
winked at the bartender. "Goddam, we gotta educate this boy. Get him
    some good whiskey..."
I shrugged. "Okay, a double Old Fitz on ice." Jimbo nodded his
    approval."

To follow up on the previous post:

A couple hours after the glasses were emptied, the scent from the WLW 138.4 was incredibly pleasing. I have a feeling that in time and or a little dilution this will be great bourbon.
