Just emptied the bottle of EC12. Time to move on to the ECBP; glad I was able to find 2 bottles. Bought 1 tasted it and rushed back to buy another. It was that good.

Had some 4Roses this week, and some OGD... time for a wheater tonight.

I think some Weller 12 later on.

They proudly indicated they were both 280 or so DAYS old and no doubt had been aged, such as it was, in small casks. They were around $44. They both looked darker than the Old Scout whiskey!

I decided I would pass for now as I hope to be able to get a taste of all four tomorrow evening at a tasting event. Maybe I will be surprised but I don't think a taste is going to convince me to change my mind about the "77" whiskeys.

Went to a wine tasting last night sponsored by a store I frequent and the owner had slipped in a little port and whiskey for me. I tried one of the Old Scouts (the bourbon I think but not sure because there was a lot of wine, champagne, port and other whiskey to be had there!) which was very serviceable but for low $30's I decided not to buy any for now. I presume they are both LDI whiskey although I didn't check that closely.

I also tried both of the Breuckelen 77 whiskeys, which are locally made craft whiskey and not sourced but are quite young and aged in small barrels. Didn't have much expectation but found the wheat whiskey to be pretty drinkable! Didn't care as much for the "corn and rye" mashbill. Probably not a regular option in the mid $40's drinkable but maybe a one time buy for something a bit different. Sounds like they are a bit like Corsair in that they do pretty much everything in house and aged in small barrels.
That yella whiskey runnin' down my throat like honey dew vine water and I took another slash…

Before heading out to dinner last night enjoyed a pour of ORVW 107, and a version of SB Blend: 50% OWA; 30% W12 and 20% WSR. Makes a very nice wheater pour.

But of course. The 1L bottle is "forcing" me to drink more manhattans. First world problem.
