these were the notes i wrote down when i first tasted it-

nose- peat smoke and cherry up are prevalent, malty.
taste- light in the mouth, barley sweetness. even though the mouth feel is light, the cherry and peat smoke builds towards the end of the sip. the beechwood smoke flavor bounces in and out giving a nod towards the smoky flavor of artisanal bacon.
    finish- peat and cherry

i like it a lot. it's a very good pour to switch up from bourbon. it's not scotch but it's not trying to be.

Baker's. Very good. A tad over-priced, but good nonetheless.

I believe that's enough for me to go get it! Thanks for the feedback. I knew someone would talk me into to it sooner or later. I think I'd like to try the Insane in the Grain too. Haven't seen that one around here. Thanks again.

This morning I pulled out some favorites: PHC 124.2 and GTS 141.8, looking forward to a pleasant morning!

The end to an absolutely spectacular week. In baseball terms, I went 21 for 30, 5 dingers, 20 Ribbies, and heck....stole 6 bases. Not to mention, ESPN "Web Gems" 5 times. So, it's 5:00 and I'm toasting the week behind, and the weekend ahead, with my all-time favorite whiskey, from my favorite distillery...a 2012 PHC.

A friend and I opened bottles of JPR 18, ER 17 and GTS. 1st time trying any of the BTAC! Loved the JPR & ER - the Stagg I left for the friend to finish. Not my cuppa I guess. The nose on the JPR was one of the most impressive I've had the pleasure to try.

    Bourbon only requires a glass.
