Tonight was another one of those nights:

Hill Farmstead - Anna, Vera Mae, and Flora
Bells - Barrel aged batch 9000
3 Floyds - Van Winkle barrel aged Darklord
    Crooked Stave - Surette
    Boulevard - Love Trip

Followed this up with some great whiskey. What a great night.

Fair bit of stout recently. Having some Dark Horse Plead the Fifth Imperial Stout at the brewery Thursday night, then returning to the Discomfort Inn and cracking open my first 2013 Founders KBS was quite nice. Got back home yesterday and headed straight to Binny's for a Pipeworks Citra Ninja, which lived up to the hype. Which was great, because I've had several Citra beers recently that weren't worthy of this fine hop.

Tonight was all about the cherry. Had a Zombie Killer Cherry Cyser by B. Nektar Meadery, a 2012 GI Madame Rose and a New Glarus Serendipity. Mellow misted fruits, indeed.

I'll be drinking well for the rest of the spring....

Drank my bottle during the epi this evening as well. Pretty standard, about what I expected. Wicked amount of head on it, though.

Damn, dude. Beer road trip eh? I feel so inadequate with the lone bottle of KBS Binny's doled out to me when I happened to be free to drive over within 30 minutes of it going on sale so that they still had some when I got there... Darn beer chasers!!

Yep -- I went to Founders for my 12-bottle allotment. Lined up some in-person trades with other Beer Advocate folk, swapping F-W Parabola and GI BCBS and BCBCS for additional KBS. Then wandered the lower peninsula a bit making buys at breweries and stores and hit Greenbush and Three Floyds (plus a Jewel in Munster for the RtB) on the way home. Nice way to roll into Easter weekend. Sole regret is that I didn't spend any time at Bell's Eccentric Cafe, but time was scarce.

Fantome saison printemps that just arrived today. Interesting beer; smoky, funky, barnyard and unusual.
