Re: What beer are you drinking, Spring 2013

Splitting a KBS with my wife while watching the Reds. Lots of nice coffee roast on the nose. We both detected a lot of ethanol when first pulled from the fridge that became a more integrated booziness as it warmed; it was still suggestive of a beer that needs to sit a bit longer. Dark chocolate and espresso flavors also dominate on the tongue. I've never enjoyed this brew as much as others and that still seems to be the case. Not worth the effort to get it IMHO, but if you like coffee stouts, it's probably right up your alley - just give it a bit longer to lose so that booziness calms down a bit.

I prefer the 10, my wife would pick the 8. Both are exceptional.
I started with an Epic Barley Wine tonight.

Good night of Ohio IPAs -- enjoyed my first bottles of Fat Head Head Hunter, Brew Kettle White Rajah and Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger. And I have a trade set up this weekend to obtain more of the first two, which aren't distributed in Chicago....

Not drinking them yet but I will later.
I picked up a couple of 4-paks of Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout
    and a 4-pak Arcadia's Hop Rocket today.
And I didn't have to use my A-K.

Nice. We received a case of it past week. Grateful to get some but a case doesn't go far.

Enjoying a prairie artisan hop tonight. This stuff is good.

Firestone DBA while solid,it's not really blowing me away either.I think I will switch things up next with a Chimay or a Rochefort,I know either way I won't walk away disappointed.

TPS just got some prairie stuff in and I've been hearing great things. Any particular recommendations based on what you've tried so far?

The prairie hop is the best I have tried. I have has the prairie ale and hop. The noir looks interesting too.
