^^^ The KBS is delicious. I picked up two bottles of Great Divide's Oak Aged Yeti last night that I'm saving for dinner tonight

Watching some baseball and enjoying a Pipeworks Citra Ninja. Very tasty.

Had a Mad Tree PsycHOPathy (Cincy local) at the ballpark from a can while we beat the Nationals. We had some gorgeous weather today with lots of sunshine in the lower 70s; perfect beer/baseball weather.

That's my favorite pale ale. I'm more fond of that than Zombie Dust (which seems to be the midwest's favorite pale). Make them send some to Ohio (or KY or Indy or somewhere I can get it more easily).

Dark Horse has a citra single hop ipa coming in a couple weeks in a mixed 12 pack.

Also Against the Grain will be brewing Citra Ass Down again soon. They are going to bottle this one but most of the bottles are heading overseas.

Re: What beer are you drinking, Spring 2013

A somewhat impromptu beer sampling with a few friends last night included a range of beer styles that were tasted.

    Lagunitas Bavarian Style Doppel Weizen
Brooklyn Brewery Silver Anniversary doppelbock lager
Ommegang XV belgian style strong dark ale
Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel Stout aged in Wild Turkey barrels
New Holland Blue Sunday Sour 2013 vintage oak aged wild ale
and the hit of the night (not too surprisingly) which was Founders Backwoods Bastard

All were good. The Blue Sunday Sour was not the most sour beer I have had but it is definitely a category that is an acquired taste. The Ommegang was a very nice representation of a good trappist style dark ale. Would like to try it next to a Chimay blue. The Anderson Valley Stout didn't really seem to get too much from the barrel aging that I could taste and didn't really hold a candle to the Backwoods Bastard which was all bourbon-y goodness on the front end without the power of alcohol at the back.

The Lagunitas and Brooklyn lager were very pleasant surprises and quite enjoyable.

We also tried the 21st Amendment Lower the Boom Barley Wine (which is a bit too hoppy for me for a barley wine style).

We also had the Bruery Three French Hens, Four Calling Birds and Five Golden Rings and few other odds and ends at the table (including a Samichlaus doppelbock at 14% that I look forward to trying!) but decided to save them for another night.
That yella whiskey runnin' down my throat like honey dew vine water and I took another slash…

Bought some Samuel Adams Boston Lager and a bottle of Fullers IPA today. Never had, will check. (Brandnew english shop opened here in Bonn, lots of stuff from the US, too!)

Love 'em both, myself. But I certainly understand the sentiment. You need to come to the next South Loop Binny's get-together and load up!
