Passed on the Jefferson 21yo bourbon today. At around $130 I just wasn't interested in risking that much on another woody bourbon, and mystery bourbon at that, for that price. So no companion for the EC20 gathering dust in my liquor cabinet!

    Picked up an ECBP instead!
That yella whiskey runnin' down my throat like honey dew vine water and I took another slash…

sorry for this being somewhat off topic, but is there a forum dedicated to trades?

PM only for that I believe. Talk of trades or sales are prohibited.

Passed up a whole row (5-6 bottles) of Kentucky Vintage 107 pf, "12 year or older" age statement at $34 + tax.

The hand written part of the label lists the lot #, but not the year bottled. Is there a way to tell when it was barreled or bottled?

Wandered into a store that had 5 Wild Turkey turkey decantors from the early 80's. A couple of 8 years and a couple of Turkey Lores. The owner wanted $50 a piece, but the tax stamps were all broken and the fill seemed light. The heads were a bit wobbled too so I'm assuming most of the corks were broken completely or near broken. No clue if this was a good price as I haven't really done much research but I just couldn't pull the trigger. Left them on the shelf but they were awesome to see in person.

Damaged goods such as those are worth only the collector value of the bottle.

I passed on JPS 21 bourbon today too. I want to taste it first. @135 way too much and when the owner starts gloating about how he should be charging more that is generally when I head for the door.

That's what I thought too Squire. Since I'm not in the decanter collecting market and only the drinking market, it was a pretty easy walk away.

I bought a lot today so my bank account forced me to pass on a lot: PHC 2011, WTAS, tons of WTR 101, J21 (can't say I was really tempted), THH (didn't check the year), OFBB 2010, FRSBLE 2011...and more that I'm not remembering at the moment.

passed on a Seagram's 1776 with a Tiffany decanter for $150. No idea what the age of the whiskey in the bottle is for this one. it might just be regular seagram's in a fancy bottle.
