That's actually not a bad price on the Rare Breed, might wanna rethink that.

Joe, WT Rye 101 has much more rye flavor, like liquid rye bread without the dill pickle you get in LDI/MGPI ryes, compared to RittBIB which is more bourbon-like.

If you like WT I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I recently purchased 2 of the 97 and a couple of the 99's and cracked open the 99 that was a little low. Excellent whiskey. They are between $16.99 and $18.99 around here. Doesn't hurt to try to get the price down. Especially, if you are buying multiples.

I've never tried GTS with any sort of soda. Maybe I'm missing out; but I'm OK with that.

I suggest buying one of the Rare Breed 375s to see if you like it well enough to buy the others. It is different (lower barrel entry proof) from the newer stuff and the price isn't too bad.

I meant that the bottle originally retailed for $45, or so I've been told.

I believe it is north of $150 at retail (if you can find it).

Once upon a time (in the early to mid 2000s) AH Hirsch 16 GF was around $45. I cheapest I've seen it at retail in the past year is $200.

Re: What Did You Pass Up Today? Spring '13

I didn't purchase any but I did run across a store in Indy with EC18 (69.99), ECBP (99.99), WT Rye 101 (23.99) and Handy (99.99)

While I would love to try the EC18 and/or ECBP, but I don't know if I can justify paying that mark up. I can get a bottle of WTR101, EC12 and VOB BIB for the price of the EC18 and toss in a bottle of four roses single barrel for the cost of the ECBP.

    FR LE SmB 2011.

Thought about it, but just picked up two last week. I'm sure it will be there by week end if I want it.

I'd buy another one of these at $80 or less. It may not have gotten the acclaim of the 2012, but I really liked it. Finished off my bottle quickly.
