    Old Forrester Single Barrel

Seen this on their website. Looks like you have to buy a whole barrel, then they bottle the lot at 90 proof.
Looks interesting, wonder if they'd bottle the juice at barrel proof?
id be willing to go in on a barrel if that were so

When I saw this on the ttb, I assumed it was going to come out in bottles so I ran out and bought more birthday for fear of increased popularity and price. Good to hear it's this format (for now at least) instead. Shame they won't let you pick a proof above 90 for bottling "your" barrel, though.

I don't post normally, but this has my interest. If enough enthusiasm exists, I'd definitely consider going in on a barrel for a case or two!

    Re: Old Forrester Single Barrel

I saw that each barrel yields 220-240 bottles. If you take the 230 as an average and $7,500 as the average price for a barrel, each bottle would cost $32-35 each.
Not sure how many per case, if it is 12 that would be around 19 cases or around $400 per case. So 19 people would have to pony up.
    I'm in for a case.

If we could pick something that tasted more like Bonded OF, this would be a very good idea. If it's just a spunkier version of current OF, I'll pass.

Single barrel would by definition be BIB wouldn't it? Presuming it was made during one of the distilling seasons.

Since they're bottling it at 90 proof it isn't eligible to be labeled "Bottled in Bond."

Yeah, it wouldn't be 100 proof, but I was referring to the flavor profile. I love that old Bonded OF profile and find that current OF pales by comparison. Not that it's bad, just not the same.

Seems to me BF could use any label for which it has approval, which would actually include the old BIB label if they still have a box of those around.
