Hahaha... thanks for noticing! It's not that frequent... but close!

I need to slow down though. Been on a tear lately.

I quit buying Fighting Cock when they dropped the 8 year age statement which is not so much a comment on the whisky, just my wont. It's still a BIB class whisky and if sold at a good price something I wouldn't pass on.

Good value and a unique, but not overly sophisticated taste. It's what I put in flasks for football games, knowing half the drinkers are going to mix it with a soft drink anyway, and it's something I can enjoy straight when I'm not trying to be Wow-ed with a high end.

Thanx to all who corrected my misinformation about FC/Wheat. It didn't taste alot like a wheater to me, though, it's been awhile since I tasted it.

The 2nd bottle of FC that I've purchased isn't as impressive as the 1st. The caramel sweetness is basically not there at all... so I'm left with the simple rye spice.

Not bad, but not as interesting as the first time around.

That's interesting. I have only had one bottle and was also struck by the nice hot caramel sweetness. Hm. I'll have to see if my mileage varies on my next bottle.

Alden, did you pick up a bottle today? I just purchased one and say $16 well spent. I am really enjoying the mint juleps I'm making with it.

No not today. Maybe tomorrow, or Tuesday, or Wednesday. I will be driving right by there Tuesday and Wednesday anyway.

Today I made an Old Fashioned with 4R YL and later I had two fingers of WR on ice.

I got one today and had a couple of pours. This tastes a lot like Buffalo Trace to me, which is a favorite of mine.

I think it's much better than the price would indicate. $15.49.

maybe i am way off but FC strikes me as one of the most basic whiskies on my shelf. and i don't mean that it's necessarily the simplest, but one of the least acidic. often i find myself adding a twist of lemon.
