Old Crow -- Samuel Clemons liked it...

Is it still any good? I heard it was not bad, not bad at all.

I'm bottom shelf shopping now. Low on funds.

    Is it just a mixer?

Whatever Old Crow was in those days has no relation to the three year old swill that Jim Beam fills its bottles with these days. Pass. Your money can be far better spent.

It's really a shame that a brand with so much history has been relegated to what it is now. Ulysses Grant was another Old Crow drinker.

Old Crow was a top shelf brand years ago.

For the same price range I'd go with Evan Williams black or BIB if available. Got some EW BIB in Georgia for $10 a couple years ago and it was a steal for that price.

Yes, I have some EW black and it's not bad at all. I think I paid $12.

Due to Beams pricing policy their 3 year old basic Bourbons (Crow, Taylor) cost about as much as Evan Williams black label which is twice as old and carefully blended to a well tested formula. Accordingly, EWB is my entry level Bourbon brand.

I'm a little late, but this is right in my wheelhouse. If FL doesn't get Ten High straight (not the blend), see if you can get some Ezra Brooks black label 90 proof - it's almost as good as EWB. Old Croak isn't worth the lint in the bottom of your pocket.

Lucky, seems I can't get my shops to order any EW BiB or HH BiB. Great stuff, but they've said it just doesn't move so they don't order it.

Its crazy to me that all the people who pick up a bottle of EW black every week never look down the shelf, see the same brand with nearly 20 more proof points for very little more $ and at least try it. Seems around here though, they don't.
