I left a bottle of the Aberlour on the shelf, thought I had spent enough for one day. As to Glendronach, they mainly produce sherried scotch, with a few cask finished bottles released as well.

I actually have a sample of the 15yo Revival and plan on tasting them side by side.

Picked up bottles of Ardberg 10 and Glenmorangie Lasanta. Should have probably picked up a Laph 10 as well. Maybe next time.

Heads up for those interested, Master of Malt just released a 15 year single cask Macallan - http://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies...f-malt-whisky/

53.7%, refill sherry hogshead, 227 bottles. I bet it doesn't last long.

I'm very interested for your thoughts on Ealanta. It seems to be another that's a little all over the place in terms of opinion. I guess the wood influence might be too much for the pure scotch drinkers, so I'd like to know how another "hybrid-drinker" feels about it.

The wood influence is obviously what attracted me, as a predominantly bourbon drinker. Will post notes when I get around to opening it.

But it's just so d@mned pricey! It's 1/3 of the way to an early '80s bottle of Karuizawa (queue sarcasm).

Really though, I almost got a bottle but put it back when I thought about the purchases I have lined up - may tip the scales back to adding it to my "buy" list if it garners some more positive feedback.

Pricey, yeah. But what the hell isn't these days? Didn't give me pause as it was something I simply wanted to try. Could very well be a better value than the Bere's, truly. Won't know until I open it though I suppose.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but I'm finding this Ealanta to be pretty great. It's got the vanilla creaminess and orange peel that you'd expect, but then this lovely cinnamon kinda comes out of nowhere and just builds and builds and..taken altogether it's almost like a pretty great cocktail. And it all leads up to a sort of sweet yet dryish (why settle? I want romaction), bourbon/scotch hybrid finish. Diggin it.

Thx MOKD. The use of new barrels makes this malt very interesting to me.

    What's a "romaction"?
