Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today - Spring 2013 ...

Thanks to the assistance of a fellow SBer I should be getting a bottle of the Knappogue Castle 17yo Twin Wood pretty soon. It is a Bushmills 15yo or so single malt aged first in bourbon casks and then finished in sherry casks for an additional 21 months or so. Only down side is that it is an 80 proof whiskey but it certainly sounds tasty!
That yella whiskey runnin' down my throat like honey dew vine water and I took another slash…

Ardbeg Uigeadail, I know, i know, it's all over the place but for whatever reason, the price dropped to $55 USD, even though I already have a bottle, I couldn't turn that down. It was either that or take a chance on something else I've never tried and get burned like I did with the unimpressive Glendronach Revival.

Pcked up a Benriach 4-pack sampler:

    Curiositas (10yr)
    12 yr
    16 yr
    Authenticus (21yr)

I've been looking forward to trying Benriach for some time now and this is just about the perfect way to go about it.

He made himself another drink and thought how much better the Perrier was than anything else you could put in whisky... Hemingway

What did you think of them? Even though I'm on a BenRiach kick, I'm on the fence with ordering a bottle of the Authenticus.

I haven't opened my mini yet but will do so in the near future - timd had a little bit of a mixed review of his Benriach 21 (I think his was also the Authenticus - Peat&Sherry):

Also, scored some Balvenie TUN 1401 Batch 3 due to the generosity of a fellow SB member who let me ride the coattails of his finely honed hunting skills. :-)
