I'm actually a fan of the Yoichi line as it is peated (if lightly compared to the Islay monsters) and Nikka has taken great pains to utilize the most traditional Scottish techniques (even to the point of using coal-fired stills) at that distillery.
Yers, pretty sure it is a 1! Will have to give it some thought.

Found a 14 year old Glenlivet First Fill sherry! Excited to open it up. Bought some Tomatin 12 because I am fan of the distillery and was curious.

Generally, it can always be assumed it is more expensive here then on the mainland though we do get some surprises.
Hawaii has a few taxes other places don't, paradise tax, sunshine tax, aloha tax. There is also the ever favorite, weareinthemiddleofnowheresoyoucantdoshitaboutit tax.

Stopped in another store where the Nikka Taketsuru 21 was a few dollars less ($149.99) and decided it was calling my name after all. Also saw a Springbank 12 CS at what seemed to be a decent price ($66.99) and added that to the basket as well.

I got 9 bottles here more or less intact so hopefully I can get these home in the same condition!

I bought a crap ton of TUN 1401 Batch 9 to get to people at cost + shipping because at the start of the year I resolved to be a decent guy...and I pretty much sucked at it for 364 days. Maybe I'll try again in 2014.

Brought home my first Laphroaig...it was the last one of its kind on the shelf, looked so lonely...couldn't leave it there to spend New Year's all alone...a Quarter Cask. So, here we sit....enjoying each other's company, whilst the remainder of 2013 drifts away as midnight approaches....an ending and a new beginning...with Laphroaig at the forefront of my tasting company for 2014.

3 Dalmore 21s for $73 each, a Scapa 12 for $37 and a Scapa 14 for $43. I'll be bringing home more of these dusties in the next few months.

Wow, nice finds, I've been looking for Scapas other than the 16 and I've never seen them in the wild, color me jealous!
