    Glen Thunder Corn Whiskey

This weekend, I had the opportunity to stop by Finger Lakes Distilling and try some of their whiskeys (all of them were excellent, by the way!) What surprised me the most was how much I liked their Glen Thunder Corn Whiskey. I've tried a few white dog whiskeys and never wanted more than the first sip. GT has a lot of fresh corn flavor and I even get the same sweet biscuity flavors found in their other whiskeys, and even a touch of honey in there as well. This whiskey completely changed my perception of unaged whiskeys and it's the first one that I actually want to drink more of! Props to Tom and the folks at FLD for their fine spirits!

how does it compare with their White Pike Whiskey (aged 18min in casks, 59%corn, 28%spelt, 13%malted wheat)?

I agree. It's a very good unaged corn whiskey.

Didn't try that one but I should have just for comparison. I'm curious what spelt brings to the whiskey table.

Best I've had yet. I WILL be buying more of this and I hope I can get it locally.

Glad to have you by, sorry we were not running, but you saw I had my hands full with the new still. GT is good, lots of good flavor. The white pike we made for another company, but it is goo whiskey. Tastes a little cleaner, the spelt makes it creamy on the toungue, and the wheat malt makes it biscuity.
