Re: Evan Williams white label going nationwide

got one! the owner at hazelwood liquors ordered it just for me. havent tried it yet, let you know tonight.

btw, if youre in louisville and want one, he ordered two, but i only bought one. I just want to see if its HHW BIB in another label.

its a rough looking place, but hes friendly.

I think HHW BIB is twice the bourbon that EWW BIB is. The EW tastes much younger, as in thinner, lighter, less flavorful and less woody.

It there a big difference between the current stuff and the stuff from the 80's?
I've never tried GTS with any sort of soda. Maybe I'm missing out; but I'm OK with that.

Turns out you were correct. Found several bottles on the shelf at a different liquor store yesterday.

Re: Evan Williams white label going nationwide

I heard from a fellow member that EW BIB has made its way almost to northern Illinois. I checked at one local place this past Saturday to see if it was here yet, but they didn't have it. The manager took my name and number and he said he'd try and get some info for me. Lo and behold, there was a message on my answering machine when I got home from work today. It was the local sales rep for Southern Wine And Spirits. He left a message telling me to call him back. I called him, and he said he's gonna do his best to get some EW BIB on the next shipment to that store. With a little luck, it might be there by Friday. He said he'd call me back one way or the other and let me know for sure. Every once in a while..........

Oh it's here alright, you just need to get your bearded German mule to haul you some back is all! 16.99 is a great deal and I find it far superior to the HH BIB Blk/Gld label and where do you turn with the recent loss of the tried and true HH 6yr BIB the EW BIB ain't all that bad of an alternative.

ive heard people say the 6 year white HH is going away, but most of those people are referring to the fact that the '6 year' description is just not obvious on the 1.75's. i have heard nothing definitive, even remotely of the white BIB going away. unless you know something I dont.....which is entirely likely!

i still see plenty of 6 year white HH around. but, i also see a good bit of AAA 10 year around too.....

I, for one, think that in a blind tasting, 99% of people could not tell EW BIB from HH 6 year BIB, and since the White BIB HH is $11 here and i have to ask a liquor store to order me an EW BIB and then pay $16 for it, i'll just get the easily available HH every time.
