    Memorial Day whiskey

It seems appropriate to pour out a little American whiskey today in honor of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. What will you be pouring today?

Don't know what I'll be drinking but know who I'll be saluting.

In honor of this day I just poured a 1942 Old Taylor BIB, and as I drink it I raise my glass to those who gave the last full measure. Please remember that today it is less important what you drink, than what you drink to.

I was referring to your "Don't know what I'll be drinking" bit.

    :-)

But back on topic. A big thanks goes out to all our active duty service people & veterans (ranging from those that paid the ultimate sacrifice to those that bear scars we cannot see) - thanks for your service and for keeping our land free.

I don't have any bottles open that scream "America" (like an Eagle Rare 101 for example), but will likely be pouring bourbon or rye today - or maybe I'll find a suitable cocktail to imbibe.

Started with a pour of a masterful blend with some serious age on it. Will finish off with some ER10 in honor of our vets. Well, maybe won't finish for a while yet. They deserve more recognition than we can bestow with just a dram or two.

Starting out with the last of a sample bottle of Eagle Rare 101. Seems appropriate, and was even given to me by a veteran. Thanks to everyone who has served!
