    How Bourbon Got It's Name

I've linked a good article from the Smithsonian below on how (potentially) bourbon got it's name. The one thing I really dig is Micheal Veach's recomendations at the end. No PVW, no BTAC, no super limited exclusive releases...just great everyday pours.

Despite having a superb bourbon historian resource at his disposal it seems the author still manages to mess up the Jack Daniels story in the usual manner. I guess even the Smithsonian isn't immune from journalistic license!

Sweet! When I become president I'm gonna have a shot of old grand dad for breakfast. Or is that HOW you become president?

Uh, I suspect it might have something to do with attempting to drink away that whole authorizing the death of millions thing.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. When the reporter called just before Derby, she said she was doing an article on Bourbon but I assumed I was just going to be one of many people she talked with, but it turns out the article was based upon that interview alone. As reporters go, I think she did a very good job with the article.

    Mike has done excellent work.

I take the view the name came from Bourbon County, KY, but we will never know for sure.

I'm voting for New Orleans, it's just too good a story.
