Nah not my fave, although they did an experimental a few weeks back where they dry hopped their amber and it was pretty GD good.
My buddy and I really enjoyed the Amber, but that may have had more to do with the Amber that kept pouring them.
Had a Deschutes Black Butte XXI tonight. Great stuff.
Tried the Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Maple Bacon Ale last night. This was a gift from my fiance (who knows nothing about beer) because she is rather familiar with my appreciation for bacon and not something I would buy for myself. Under the circumstances I was going to have to try it of course! It is one of the lowest rated beers I have seen on Beer Advocate (not that the rating alone would stop me from trying something).
Suffice it to say it was not particularly good. The nose has hints of maple and bacon, although it is more like bacon grease, along with a smokey quality. The smoke seems to dominate the taste and is a bit sharp in nature and not overly pleasing. The maple and bacon seems to all but disappear.
Oh well, at least it is done now!
That yella whiskey runnin' down my throat like honey dew vine water and I took another slash…

Opened a Jackie O's Chomolungma (from a can). Not my favorite beer, but very solid; super glad to be getting Jackie O's in cans now. I can't wait for them to can Mystic Mama (which should happen in the next few months)!
Fantome Black Dark Extra Sour Collection. So very tasty.
Enjoying one of my favorite seasonal brews, Sam Adams Oktoberfest.
