Re: What Rye Are You Drinking? Summer 2013

Attended a cookout yesterday and brought some Ritt BIB,GD Rye and Jefferson's and surprisingly enough everyone seemed to levitate towards the Jefferson's as I figured the Ritt would have been the crowd favorite among a field of non rye experienced drinkers.

I had picked up several of the 10yr. ryes some time back while they were still non-chill filtered for $26 which I feel is a great bargain for a 10yr. age stated Canadian sourced rye.

This doesn't surprise me. I find the 100% mashbills to be very sweet and simple for some reason. It needs interaction with malt and/or corn to really come to life, IMO.

What Rye Are You Drinking? Summer 2013

Opened a Hirsch 25 tonight and find it to be much like the Ritt 25 it is very dark heavy and sweet also has a surprising amount of punch left from the rye.. I am guessing much like my Ritt 25 bottle this one will take a long time to finish
