    Hello from Michigan!

Greetings from Canton, MI! I came across this website looking for info to plan a bourbon country visit that I am headed to in a couple weeks with my wife. The amount of information was great in the Distillery Trips forum - thanks to all the members on here for the wealth of knowledge that has been shared!

I have been into bourbon for a few years now but still consider myself a novice when it comes to it. Tasting my way through some of the middle shelf bourbons right now but have had a lucky chance or two to sample some of the higher end stuff as well. Was hoping this upcoming trip and getting to know more local bourbon enthusiasts would expand my bourbon horizon. My current bottle is Four Roses Single Barrel and have been enjoying that so far. Looking forward to participating in the site and meeting new bourbon enthusiats like myself!

Good morning adub, welcome aboard, look forward to your contributions. By the way, middle shelf stuff is a good place to start, or stay, or finish for that matter. Excellent Bourbon can be found for less than $25.00 and a number of our members have decided paying 3-4 times more does not translate into enjoying the more expensive bottle 3-4 times more.

Welcome Adub! I hope you enjoy your time here. Hopefully, your mitten brothers and sisters will put together one of their area shindigs so you can meet them all. There are a ton of y'all now!

    Re: Hello from Michigan!

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

Looking forward to the trip! Unfortunately Buffalo Trace is not offering their Hard Hat Tour while I am down there. A little disappointed after all the praise it got on the site here but I guess that gives me a reason to have to go back..... Anyone have any suggestions on the next best in depth tour to take? I was looking at the corn to cork tour that Woodford offers but the 25 bucks per person seemed a bit steep. If not, I guess we will just do the standard tours at the places we go.

    Welcome aboard from Novi.

i just did my first bournbon trail visit and I highly recommend visiting Four Roses (both the distillery, and the Cox Street bottling and aging facility). I also really enjoyed my visit to Willett, and it's only five minutes from Heaven Hill.

    enjoy!
