Yes. Firing up the internal hype machine, trying to maintain the pretense of "exclusivity", and disparaging competitors seems to be a tactic. Not my preference, but hey, it seems they are used to a mouthful of wood.

Well it is exclusive, that's true because the distiller certainly didn't intend for it to turn out that way.

Failed dusty hunting today, but still found some decent stuff. Left an Elijah Craig 18 on the shelf but picked up a Jefferson's rye (Canadian juice) @ $35, Centinela Reposado @ $30, and a 375 of Pierre Ferrand Reserve @ $20.

I did find a few bottles of Old Taylor 6 year, but I didn't know much about it so I passed.

Passed on some Black Maple Hill. Price is starting to creep up. Some stores still have it at $49.99 but some have it as high as $69.99.

Would depend on when it was bottled, a very old bottle of Old Taylor is a thing to be desired.

It doesn't look 'very old', but I trust your judgement far more than mine.

That one's a B&C (Bourbon and Coke) mixer and should be priced accordingly.

Passed on EC 21 at $125. I think I'm going to go back and get one, though. Intrigued by the 21 years, and it's pre-fire HH roots.
