What did you pass up today? Summer '13

Couple bottles of 2013 FRLESB for $79.00 and a bunch of RHF for $52. Can't pull the trigger when other stuff coming out soon has already spoken for my money. If you wanna know where they are lemme know.

Speaking for myself Thad I believe I could drink $40 worth of Manhattans in three hours.

Ah, ok. Greens had some when I picked up my DSP-1 several weeks back, although now I've seen a few stores. Some, interestingly enough, have signage stating "Single Barrel, Private Selection for <insert store name>" - but the bottles didn't have any stickers on them? Thought that was odd.

Passed on . . . everything today. Waiting to NOT pass up some GBS ETL in the next week though!

It sounds like more than a few of us are passing on the standard stuff right now and saving our money for some newer releases that are expected out soon. Meanwhile, I am enjoying whittling down my bunker a little.

I keep attempting that, then while wandering my local stops for ECBP or maybe an early shipment of Stagg Jr, i trip across some product that's been marked down and then i end up on the "what did you buy" thread.

I did pass on AE Rye at near $100. Store is usually good about pricing, but this one must have slipped through. Or perhaps AE spiking the price due to demand?

Definitely some of that, and some prior commitments coming in shortly. I did some math on it, and I could maintain my current consumption without buying a bottle for 5 years. Which, my wife points out, begs the question why I stop in stores every week

Why do the women insist on talking about our shopping as if it's superfluous whereas theirs is somehow necessary.

Her new argument is "The crap I buy we can resell once I'm done enjoying it, and get something for it - sometimes as much as I paid for it. You drink that damn whiskey, so that is completely different!"

I'm taking this as "I need to sell the crap she buys to buy my whiskey" . . . but I've misinterpreted these things before
