Re: Weller 12 flying off the shelves?

Well there is that, and the fact that there was no spring release so there will certainly be a larger than "normal" allotment anyway. Which will no doubt give an A-HA! moment to the conspiracy theorists.

Hmmm Chuck's logical rebuttal or anonymous internet distillery friend's speculation?

Re: Weller 12 flying off the shelves?

I heard a rumor last year that Buffalo Trace had talked the Van Winkles into letting them release one of their offerings year round. That bottle? Lot B. I can't tell you if it's true, I know I was a bit skeptical. However, it seems to make sense in light of some of the other rumors I am hearing.

Weller 12 flying off the shelves?

I just did inventory and kept finding these everywhere. I've got 11, which I guess means I need one more

It's getting to be a shame that we need someone to be the proverbial broken record here but thank you Joe for having the energy to keep it to the truth. And doesn't the popularity of the SB blend say something about the current W 12...as in a bit thin and sooty.

Weller 12 flying off the shelves?

I only have as many as I do because it's my go-to gift bourbon. It's not available in the state, and often hard to find elsewhere, and I've found the MM crowd laps it up like driven dogs.

Re: Weller 12 flying off the shelves?

I still see it as a great pour for the money is it as good as it was 6-8 years ago when it was truly stellar,no but still a great value at under $30 for a 12yr wheated whiskey.I will agree with it being a tad thin, but I feel the sooty note subsides after ample open time, just not as complex as it once was but still in it's own right a pretty quality pour and one I always keep around.

Zachys has (had?) some available online for $25. Bought a couple a few days ago.

Re: Weller 12 flying off the shelves?

Visited my three main haunts yesterday only found one bottle of the 12 (it came home with me). It seems like a month ago they were all over the place.
