Re: Weller 12 flying off the shelves?

I like to think they're putting it out as fast as they can.

There are 0 bottles at the distributor in any size in Illinois. I hope I don't get in trouble for divulging this.
    Bourbon only requires a glass.

I found several here in Bloomington, Indiana yesterday. I'm stocked up so I didn't purchase any, but if anyone in the area is looking, happy to tell you where. $26.

Plenty on the shelf in down state Illinois. My local store just got in a case about 2 weeks ago.

I need to vat a bottle of the SB blend. I've been meaning to do that for a while but just haven't got around to it.

Jack - I see nothing wrong with bunkering a little of what you like. I did the same as you. If nothing else, you may have bunkered it at a cheaper price than you will be able to find it in the future.

It's not the bunkering that makes me feel foolish. The 4 bottles of W12 that I bunkered were easy to find. It's the massive amount of time and effort I spent doing so with OWA. I was hitting every liquor store I could find looking for it and I went into numerous stores where there was a tag underneath but an empty shelf.

The best was the Payless store I went into where a young clerk in his early 20s asked me if he could help me find anything. When I inquired about "Old Weller Antique 107", he replied "What is that?". I told him it was a bourbon. He said he was "a huge bourbon drinker" and that "if it was any good, I would have heard about it."

I have a 750 with the wheat on it that I bought recently (bottled in 2010.) Tastes just like the current stuff. I've also seen 1.75s with the wheat embossed on the bottle.
I've never tried GTS with any sort of soda. Maybe I'm missing out; but I'm OK with that.

Checked both stores I passed through today and Weller 12 and WSR were pretty available. OWA was also in both stores but fewer in number.

Most of those towards the back are Weller 12's.
That yella whiskey runnin' down my throat like honey dew vine water and I took another slash…
