    Hi there, from Houston

New to this forum, but I started about a year & half ago to absorb as much information about bourbon and American Whiskey in general, and work my way up and down the bourbon aisle. Somehow I both feel I've learned a lot, but am still very much a novice. My current cabinet consists of:
    • Larceny
    • Rittenhouse Rye
    • Jefferson's Straight Rye
    • Yellow Rose Outlaw bourbon
    • 1792 Ridgemont Reserve
    • Balcones Baby Blue corn whiskey
    • Four Roses Single Barrel (still unopened from my birthday 2 weeks ago)
    • and Evan Williams black. Always Evan Williams.

I would have to say at this point my favorite is Col. E. H. Taylor Small Batch Bourbon or Elmer T. Lee for bourbon, and Rittenhouse for Rye. My go-to, everyday bottles are Bulleit and Evan Williams.

    Welcome Bacon!
Have fun learning more, and tasting more. I'm still a novice after a few decades of enjoying, and a few years seriously exploring the variety and depth of the spirit of America. It's all wonderful; though some are more wonderful than others. Which are which is strictly dependent upon your own preferences.
    That's what it's all about!

    Hi there, from Houston

Nice to have you. Very good starting selection. Next time you are at the store pick up a four roses small batch, an OGD 114, a baby saz, old weller antique, and well just get one of everything dammit. It'll never go bad.

Welcome to SB bacon! I'd put a twist on RM's recommendation and say "Buy everything you haven't tried that you can find in a 50 mL bottle, then buy everything you haven't tried that you can find in a 200 mL bottle". He's right - it don't go bad, but that can be a blessing or a curse when you wake up one day with dozens of open bottles you tried, and thought were alright, but are just pushing out of the way to get to the stuff that really lights your lamp

and well just get one of everything dammit.
I struggle with this everytime I am at the store. Go in planning on buying a specific bottle or two, then just stare at everything second guessing and wanting to buy like 5!

Thanks for all the well wishes!
