Re: What's your favorite BIB and why?

This thread is yet another example of how everyone's palate is different. I'm seeing alot of love for EWBIB. I certainly like it, but for my taste VOB and Old Forester are far better.

It's all good and after the third drink it's all great.

Excellent point. I like the EW BIB and the VOB BIB about equally (which is NOT to say I think they taste the same), but I'm not such a fan of the Old Forester 100. Deliciousness is in the mouth of the beholder.

I suppose my favorite BIB is not a bourbon but Rittenhouse Rye. Always try to have a couple in the house. Very flexible as a cocktail mixer and not bad on its own right.
That yella whiskey runnin' down my throat like honey dew vine water and I took another slash…

If I have to pick one, it will always be VOB. $14. Perfect on its own, or mixed with Ale-8-one, and a ton of ice.

If we're including discontinued like OF BiB, I'm surprised no one mentioned ND OGD BiB. I have a number of bottles and I think it's really terrific. Tried the EW BiB since I could find it back in Virginia. Good but not exceptional imho.

Hoarded yes but it's available by the ounce at the bar i work at.
    Bourbon only requires a glass.

What's your favorite BIB and why?

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, I love the JTS Brown BIB.

I'd give my right you know what for a Bottle of JTS Brown signed by Paul Newman. That's what Fast Eddie orders in "The Hustler" as he's playing Minnesota Fats.

Another vote for EWBIB because it's the only one tried so far as I start my journey down the bourbon trail.
