Actually it doesn't sound so bad when you put it that way.

Well, I do take fiction seriously. Especially Faulkner. Too much bourbon commentary lately could have been written by the Snopeses.
If God made anything better than bourbon he must have kept it for Hisself.

Actually, I have little use for bad writing in general. If one cannot express thoughts clearly the sentiments should be rethought.

Re: GQ - The New Whiskey Rebellion

I like two things about it. First, getting Julian Van Winkle to recommend substitutes for his products was genius, and Julian gave good ones. Second, the end of the article links back to the beginning so those made stupid by reading it can immediately read it again.

Really, just about everything else is stupid, but it reflects how a lot of young guys, especially the type who read GQ, are experiencing the whiskey phenomenon, which is very superficially.

The main conceit of sallow youth is that only they and their peers know anything.

Do as many people judge seniors on the contents of their AARP magazine as they do the younger generation's throw away magazines? Poor un-researched articles aren't confined to any one source, nor are they indicative of any generation's experiences or attitudes to anything.
