Is Evan Williams Honey Reserve Bourbon?

I just saw a magazine ad for Evan Williams Honey Reserve and the bold tagline across bottom was 'Seriously Good Bourbon'.

The bottle is more truthful and calls it Kentucky Liqueur. This product is class type 619 per the TTB. They should call it what it is 'Seriously Good Other (herbs and seeds)'. Calling this bourbon is false advertising.

Time for another sternly worded email to the TTB, Wade.

The TTB regulate the labels (or at least pretend to), but don't think they regulate off label advertising. I might send Heaven Hill an email and tell them that do make some 'Serious Good Bourbon' and this product insults the name of their true bourbon.

"Seriously Good Bourbon" is the Evan Williams brand tag line, regardless of product. You may send your concerns to Larry Kass at HH.

Maybe punctuation is missing. Maybe it's supposed to read "Seriously? Good bourbon?"

I have long felt those responsible for marketing Bourbon (any brand) have a low opinion of the intelligence of their customers.

Present company excepted, they are probably right ... at least with respect to Bourbon.
