What Wee Dram Are You Enjoying Now - Fall 2013/Winter 2014

New thread, don't need to start it quite as often for "Wee dram" as the "What bourbon are you.." for obvious reasons, so we'll let this be Two Season run (Spring/Summer was the last, this Fall/Winter).

I am very seriously considering a little nip of Talisker Storm to chase my breakfast then lying down for a wee nap with my son. Ah, the simple things in life.

Last night was some Port Charlotte Single Cask, man can they put out some great stuff.

I love Fall. While everyone else is busy chasing annual release bourbon, I find the cooler weather and shorter days to be Scotch drinking time. I just watched the Luminata lantern parade, which kicks off Fall, and am now sitting back with a small glass of Tun 1401 #6. The sherry is starting to have a little more pop now that the bottle has had time to breathe - a mighty fine dram, though one to sip sparingly (I think Fall is call for celebration and a special dram though).

I might have to follow suit and get a bottle of the #6

Can you still get a bottle of the #6? I purchased a bottle of the #3 right when it came out sorta on a whim, that and I generally love Balvenie anyway, and have been guarding it with my life. It's still unopened and will remain that way until I find that perfect opportunity to break it out (wife getting pregnant maybe? birth?). I'd love to grab a 6 but when I did a quick check a few weeks ago I could not find anywhere online with it and my local Seattle area shops are pretty terrible at stocking rare and limited scotch.

As for my wee drams I've actually been revisiting my bourbon collection lately though I did crack one of my hunkered JW Greens the other night. I do have some ADR cask strength releases coming my way in the 17-23 year age range including a Benriach whom I have never tasted before. I'm looking forward to that!

    Going all-Irish tonight.

Started with Redbreast 12 to the Jameson 12 (excellent for the money).

Next up is the Powers Johns Lane 12.

I don't think any of the distributors in WA carried the TUN's - where'd you score your #3 from? :-)

I have a #3 open right now - if we ever get a Seattle area SB gathering going (hint hint) I'll bring some to share.

Edit: If you try the #3 and hate it, I get first dibs! =]b

MtnDew, I've got a Tun 6 open if you ever make it to one of our meetups - I'll even charge you $100 less than the $100 Canon charges for a pour.
