Did a small tasting tonight with a few folks. Started with Berrys 17 year Caperdonich, then JW Green label, Lag 16, and finished with Talisker 25. It was a very fun tasting!

    I must've misplaced that invite...

    Really though, nice tasting selection!

It was a spur of the moment thing, otherwise you would have been invited

And thanks! I thought the choices and order worked out rather well.

I had some friends in last night and we did an impromptu tasting at my place. One of them brought a Tun 1401 batch 9 to the party, so I couldn't resist the urge to open a batch 3 and go vertical with my open batch 6.

Also broke out Glenfarclas 1974, Arran 14 K&L, Ardbeg Uig/Corry/Day, Lagavulin 12 CS, Octomore 2.2, and a PVW 15/20 comparison to HHSS (to blow my friend's mind who is a Pappy cultist).

On this cold, rainy day, having a wee dram of my newly opened bottle of Tullamore Dew Phoenix while watching my dismal Giants play the Redskins.

The Phoenix is very nice. It will ably fill the third spot of my PJL, RB Cask Strength, TD Phoenix trifecta. Pretty complex nose and taste--I get some sherry, some fruit and oak, the pot-still character, vanilla, etc.

These bigger, bolder Irish whiskeys are making it harder for me to go back to the typical Irish 80 proofers.

On a cold, rainy & dismal night last...a pair of 10s by the warm hearth: Laddie & Tobermoroy to warm the soul.

I totally agree. I'm only missing the PJL piece of the splendid puzzle.
