I'm eager to try a bottle of this as soon as I can lay hands on one. Until that time comes, here on turkey day I've decided to not pursue the usual & more traditional bird this year...opting instead for one of smaller stature but every bit as tasty (perhaps more) - Redbreast 12CS.

Happy & Safe Thanksgiving to all!

oh, I'd say it is all Irish. Just nobody has been making it the way it should be for quite some time.

While out here in Oregon I picked up two bottles of the Emerald 1865 whiskey from Ransom Spirits. Not really foreign whiskey but being made based on an 1865 recipe for pot still whiskey that was unearthed by David Wondrich. They previously collaborated on Ransom Old Tom Gin.

I definitely plan to open this one for Thanksgiving!
That yella whiskey runnin' down my throat like honey dew vine water and I took another slash…

After the Redbreast, had some Bushmills before the feast. Afterwards for dessert, Glenrothes Select...very good day. Maybe a bit later in the evening, Balvenie Founders.

Agreed! The pure pot still Irish whiskey character is one I can really sink my teeth into....not that triple distilled garbage that's nearly passable as water.

I'll need all that and then some with a 4 day weekend at the in-laws...where there's no booze to be had.

The thought has crossed my mind, but I'm not the type to be sneaking alcohol...at least where it would make my wife's life more difficult. I'm more the sneak booze into places that don't carry anything decent...or where I have an objection to paying $10-20 for a drink. I've got plenty of time to chill in my bunker. I think she'll need a drink more than I will when we get home.
