I've never tried GTS with any sort of soda. Maybe I'm missing out; but I'm OK with that.
Rainy night here turning to sleet & ice soon. ...they say ice storm is imminent. So, I may have to depend on the bunker for a few days. For now, it seemed like a night to go back to the briny, sea salty Rocks of Bruichladdich. Next trip making the rounds, I may have to grab another one of these before they disappear.

Balvenie 10 Founders Reserve last night. Still got another in the bunker but may pick up the Double Wood today to replace the one we finished last week.

Started last with a recently opened Springbank 10/100 - this stuff is the bees knees. I haven't had one open for quite awhile and I forgot how dirty it is, but so well balanced with supple, creamy malt and fresh lemon zest. The dirty aspect brings a certain tarry, peppery funk that shows so well on the clean malt profile.
Also opened a 12yo Springbank bottled by Hart Bros at 46%. Distilled June 1993, bottled September 2005. It's not as rich, not as extreme in its directions as the 10/100 - less dirt more lemon. Funny, I picked this up the other week for $48 and later saw the same bottle on another shelf for $102. I think I'll go back and grab that other $48 bottle...
Finished up with some Caol Ila Sauternes finished, very pleasing as usual.
