Tullamore Dew Phoenix. Interesting dram--definite sherry influence with some grungy pot still flavors and some creamy vanilla grain flavors, but a bit spirity. I think this one is going to be good once it has been open for awhile. Hopefully the sherry influence doesn't oxidize out too quickly.

RB CS B1 '11 & '12 SBS and was actually surprised by the noticeable difference the '11 I found to be a bit more red berries and fruit forward the '12 a bit deeper and a touch more dry both great, great pours.

Watched the ice turn to snow, so I figured I'd start a fire and have a generous pour of RB12. A very generous pour!

I don't know about being a rock star, or as my brother says party like a rock star, but I like neat whiskey (high quality bourbon or selected scotch) in the morning if I'm no going to do anything to serious that day.

It was actually more of an insinuation for creating such a great paring of the crab omelette and a nice Islay whisky, this coming from a guy who once used PHC 5th in pancake batter.

Brought some bottles over to a family dinner. Ended up polishing off a Laph 18 and most of a G&M Rosebank 19.

Sorry to have misinterpreted, but you're right crab and Islay are a great combination.

That's an enjoyable dram for sure, one I still reach for on occasions. I have several in the bunker. I do prefer the older style 15 before they modified the distillate and replaced it with the 18. The 18 tastes a little more dumbed down (for lack of a better word) than the 15. The 15 is more vibrant and pops on the palate with bolder flavors. Hard to explain I guess.

The first few tastes I had on this one didn't do much for me. It was by no means off-putting like Galileo, but it just lacked that Ardbeg bite for me. Kind of an overall meh experience.
