I like Blantons but yes, find it designed to be more of a crowd pleaser than an enthusiast's drink. A couple more along that line that have richer profiles are Elmer Lee and Rock Hill Farms, if you haven't already tried them.

I also wonder about that. To be fair Bull Run has right on the label that they sourced it. I would imagine aging whiskey in Oregon would be similar to Scotland and would likely be very different than their sourced (probably MGP) whiskey that was stored at least part of its life in Indiana.

I notice some NDPs say they will be replacing the sourced product with their own make eventually. I wonder if they will change the brand name as well since the whisky will taste different.

just got home from school and had about a 1/4 ounce of Ezra 101. While I put it last place the other night in comparison to others, sipping it on its own is quite nice....sweet and a little hot.

Those are exactly the first taste impressions I got from my last bottle of Ezra 101, sweet and hot.

Nice pour of some OGB BIB. After a couple days of WT101, it is a welcome and pleasant change

Tried the PHC POH last night at the MGM pub. Really enjoyed it but I think the 6th edition was better. They are the only PHCs Ive had so I cant compare to the others. Hoping to get a couple bottles of the POH for the bunker. On a side note there is a restaurant here with AH Hirsch for around $50 per pour for the 16 year old distilled in 1974. Worth the price of admission?

VOB tonight. Caramel, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon. Merry Christmas! VOB is loaded with holiday spices. Love this stuff! Southern boys who know what jam cake is must also love the VOB.

Had a mini of KC smoked maple. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to sweet for me. I liked it more than the crown royal maple though. That was straight up syrup. 0-2 on maple finishes. Ill leave the rest alone. I bet both would be good on pancakes or maybe in some tea.
