Cracked open the Jim Beam Signature Craft 12.

I like it, only 43% but good. sweet on the nose. Definitely taste vanilla, some citrus.

and +1 for a screw cap bottle.

I am with you. Sometimes, lower proof bourbons hit the spot. Two of my favorites, AAA10 and OC10 are both 86 proof. Both are screw caps too!

Started with a SBS tasting of WSR 7 Year, WL12, OWA. Preferred in that order. Thought tonight would be a wheater night only but then decided on a pour of standard FRSB.

Drinking a healthy sample of a Weller 12 that is most likely Bernheim juice, so much different than the current bottling.

Yes it is. Did that get to you by way of Tejas? If so, I've had some of that bottle too. I'd buy W12 all the time if it tasted like that.
I've never tried GTS with any sort of soda. Maybe I'm missing out; but I'm OK with that.

Yep one of the texas crew sent it to me, so good!!! I wish I could find the regular Weller 12 on the shelves around here let alone this bit of deliciousness

Closing out the evening with an old favorite - OGD 114. Its been a while since I dove into this biting chewy char of a bourbon...kinda like greeting an old best friend you have not seen in a long time.
