Re: What bourbon are you drinking - Fall 2013

we had a halloween party, so the wife had out lots of wine, and i put out a stash of various proof bourbons for the few who actually drink it.

86 proof JB 8 year (Its still unopened, no one wants to try it)
    92 proof Larceny
100 proof Ritt BIB (BF version)
    114 proof OGD
    120 proof KC.

the KC nearly got wiped out. I'm not the only fan of that one!

A few good sized pours of FRSmBLE2013. Taste better tonight compared to last night.

How much approximately were the 20 Year bottles?

i dont remember, but it was WELL beyond my limit, exponentially at that. there was one, dont remember the year, that was $400. that crosses the boundary from 'expensive' into 'stupid'

I have seen some 20+ Year WFE Bourbon for around $200. That is super-expensive but something I can deal with in very rare cases. Anything above that goes into the stupid territory for me. My sweet spot is $50-$100.

Re: What bourbon are you drinking - Fall 2013

Had a great time last night splitting this 1.75 of ER up between Humchan and I. Threw in a few more vintage pours of SW Old Fitz BIB, ND OGD, and some recent Pappy 23. Took the opportunity to break in the set of vintage Old Fitz glasses I picked up this week in excellent condition. Then the Red Sox lost, but at least I had a ton of great bourbon to make me feel better.

well, it WAS the distillery gift shop, and usually GS offerings are jacked up in price........which really counters logic, as they dont have to pay for distribution or marketing.
