Hello from the Piney Woods of East Texas

Very impressed with the board and it's members. I come from a long history of being a wine snob. I was at the liquor store a couple of months ago and for no real reason picked up a bottle of Knob Creek. My previous experience with bourbon had been limited to Makers Mark - purchased mostly because of the neat wax topped bottle, I am sure!

My first few glasses of the Knob Creek impressed me. Lots of nose, nice flavors and a good burn! So since then I have been culling through the web site looking for ideas for new experiments.

So far I have added Woodford Reserve, and Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Like the WTRB best so far.

So thanks for the information and keep it coming!

Welcome, you've got three good starting points that are easily available, not overly expensive, and different enough to point you toward discovering what you like.

Welcome to the board TheEgg from 'East Texas'. Have FUN! That's what it's all about.
I look forward to your posts.
(Try Knob Creek 120-proof, or Booker's, if you like KC.)

Not sure where in East Texas you are, but I live in the Henderson, Kilgore area. Welcome!

We have a local group that meets about once a month to taste through some stuff, share opinions and lies, and have a good time. No meeting in October, but will send you info on the November meeting if you are interested.

Welcome! I've spent a decent amount of time in the piney woods myself. I used to do a lot of driving to all points north of Houston when I lived there. I often find that I miss those pine trees now that I'm living in Austin.
