What store would this be? I am very very very very interested.

I think the place I visit in Sydney when I stay at my brother-in-laws is called The Oak Room or The Oak Barrel... They had a reasonable selection of hard to find stuff.

Yeah its the Oak Barrel on Elizabeth St. They also hold a lot of different tastings and events throughout the year.

Just bought some of those Beam 'Long Blacks'. Don't mind them for a premix.

Firstly I have not been to ever liquor store in Sydney . For example I have not been to the Oak Barrel or the specialist whisky store in Double Bay.

The biggest selection of bourbon I have seen in my time in Sydney (I travel around a lot of Sydney in my job) is at Kemps Creek Liquormaster which is attached to a petrol station on Elizabeth Drive, Kemps Creek.

The owner(always forgot his name but he know his stuff and will suggest different bourbons based on your likes and dislikes) loves bourbon and as very large range including some hard to find bourbons many kept in in the locked display cabinet (usually well above my price range). It has always been worth the trip to the store every time I have been.
    .

I hope the above information helps other Sydney bourbon lovers.

Its actually a great help as I dont live too far from there and its not something I though to ever check out.

If you are ever near the city, try checking out Liquor on Oxford. John and Bill both really helpful and have a pretty interesting selection. I am going to go there again next week and will try and report whats in stock at the moment.

Very excited about FR coming to australia, I hope they dont take the piss too much with the prices, hopefully the small batch is less than $50 and the single not more than $70.
Wonder if they will bring the yellow label out? Hard to imagine it fitting in, what pricepoint would you have it at? You surely couldnt have it much more than JB white.

I totally agree with the question of yellow label.

You would think it would be worth their while just aiming for the mid range to start off with. Then worry bout the yellow later.

Vietish, I also don't live too far from Kemps Creek, I think you will like the store ( I have never left empty handed).

Looking at the on line stores that offer four roses the yellow label seems to be about $70 and the small batch around $80. If it ends up in the bigger chains these prices may reduce a bit, I would think maybe $60 for the small batch. I would love the single barrel to come to Australia. As Kirin own the brand an they realise that more bourbon is being drunk n Australia I think it is good chance. I just hope they don't reduce the proof for our market.

So Four Roses coming to Australia is just rumour? Or has someone actually heard something official?
