Great question - I've never done a blind SBS, but sounds like my "what to do with an hour this Sunday afternoon?" riddle just got solved

Yes, I've never sat down and compared the two either, mostly due to a dearth of Ritt around here.

I've passed on some WTR101 in the last few months (priced $24-$27 range), thinking in the back of my mind that I don't know if it would be that much better than Ritt BIB (which is $18-$22 in these parts), and I had a couple which seemed like plenty. Probably should have done this tasting before, as I pointed some feller SBer's to those and expect they are long gone

Not sure of the age of the WTR101, but by the label a minimum of 4 yrs - which would make it a fair comparison to the Ritt BIB. Of course, who knows if the new stuff will taste the same, although I wouldn't expect a huge difference.

To the best of my recollection WT 101 Rye has always been 4 years old.

This is great news! Well, sort of; hopefully consumers will see some of it too. I will get blasted for saying this, but I prefer the spicier WTR101 over the bourbony Ritt BIB.

I completely agree. I like both, but WT101Rye screams rye, in all it's gingery, wintergreen glory. Ritt is a softer, rounder Rye.

    Not from me!!!

I prefer the WT for the exact same reason. Dang, you got good taste, LB!

WT should just give up on the 81 rye, and the Forgiven. Start a single barrel selection program for rye.

Nobody here needs to worry about me hoarding this if it makes the shelf. I can get punched in the throat much more cheaply elsewhere.

    Re: WT101 Rye Returns?

I really enjoyed the WT101R when it was previously available but with all the games and BS coming from them the last few months, I'm done with them. Same goes for WP.

Your bottles are safe from me, I'll stick with RITTBIB, baby Zaz, GDR, HW
