    Hello from Iowa

Thanks to all of the members and moderators of SB.

Live in central Iowa, toured JD and GD last spring, really peaked my interest in bourbon.

I've been lurking the forums here, reading as much as I can, learning the abbreviations & different types, and visiting stores in my area.

So far, seem to like rye over wheat, and less oak.

Welcome kwshannon! Glad to have you here! You mentioned liking rye over wheat and less oak. What are some of the pours that you've found to be "in your wheelhouse"?

So far I have tried W12, JD, GJ, EW Green, Ritt BIB, WT101. I enjoyed W12, but favored EW, Ritt and WT. I just finished the Ritt, and have an OLD BIB to try next.

Good to hear from more people from Iowa! It's a tough state, buy when traveling is my best advice. What part of the state are you in?

Thanks for the welcomes. I appreciate the diversity of topics, and openness with all of the posts. This is a good place.

I am in your same area. I've visited Ingersoll and Central City on my searches. Sounds like I will need to take more trips to add to what I can find locally.

Ingersoll-Having a flashback to te college days hearing that mentioned. Shopped there, but infrequently as it was a little on the higher end in those days.

    Welcome to the board!
