Re: What beer are you drinking? Winter 13/14

Had some Pipeworks Simcoe Ninja. I'm a fan of their single-hop Ninja series, even though the malt is a bit heavier than what I usually go for in a IIPA, and this is a fine representation. The hops are bitter pine and reedy on the palate but finish with the lovely candied note that FFF usually excels at in their I/APAs.

We haven't received our victory yet. They used to have a big iPa called hop wallop. It was one of the beers that got me into hops.

We are spoiled with amazing imperial and double ipas right now. Chillwave, dbl crooked tree, hop nosh, plus add the ATG bottles of Rico Suavin and citra ass down. Lagunitas is right around the corner too.

FFF ZD infused w candied ginger. Pretty interesting. The sweetness from the candy really ramps up the malt profile, and the kick of ginger at the back end is really nice. French presses. Not just for coffee.

Went way outside of my usual comfort zone and honestly thoroughly enjoyed the experience Bluebird Bitter,Oude Gueuze and an 1809 Berliner.

I've lived in mid-Michigan all my life and I finally had my first Founder's Red Rye IPA tonight. I feel so foolish now waiting this long.

I hope everyone is making nice with their local stores for the release of KBS in the near future. I got a ticket to purchase 8 bottles from Founder's on Saturday. I look forward to getting my bottles but I feel like I will be walking into a hornet's nest that day.

Already got my KBS reserved and planning on my annual Bourbon Battle - BCS vs KBS in a battle to the bottom of the glass! Who will win this year?Well, besides me, of course. I always win! (Okay, and my wife who would do bad, bad things to me if she was not allowed to partake)

But it's St. Patty's day, so there will be Guinness in my future, both regular on draft and some Foreign Extra Stout at home afterwards. Tasty stuff!

Had a Founders BS tonight to pair nicely with my wife's home cooked dinner of Reubens, and well, more Reubens.
