I'm new to bourbon tasting although I'm not new to drinking it. Started with Jack Black and worked my way up(?) to Makers Mark and tried some Wild Turkey the other day. I picked up a bottle of Jim Beam white, and compared to the three previously mentioned spirits I really hated it. So, I am learning, and I also realize it's all very personal. One of the reasons I'm here is to find out what I should try next. Jack Black is good, while the Makers Mark is a bit smoother and more complex (to me). I find the Wild Turkey to be a bit sweeter and very smooth but not as "tasty" as the Makers Mark.

I live in a resort and the prices here are very high, so I'm looking for Bourbons that are reasonably priced. That said, I'm not against spending a bit more to see what's out there. Any ideas?
