    Smile Hello, from Kentucky!

I just got into bourbon a few months ago and I love it! Because I turned 21 the middle of last year I'm quite new to whiskey, although I've drank craft beers for MUCH longer . I started off trying single malt scotch, my first and only bottle being Glenlivet 12. My first bottle of bourbon was Knob Creek and I LOVED it. So far I have tried Knob Creek, Rowans Creek, Elijah Craig 12, and Larceny. I plan on picking up a bottle of Buffalo Trace this weekend, its on sale for $22 at the local Rite Aid. I'm fortunate to be a couple hours away from the distilleries, I plan on touring a few this coming spring break from college. I hope to learn a lot from this site, and look forward to doing so.

I've always liked whiskey neat, and wouldn't and haven't had it any other way.

Welcome aboard. Good to see a yungin that aprecciates a good liquor for drinking instead of getting drunk.
Peggy: Look Al, the rubes think I'm sexy!
Al: So would I if I had whiskey for breakfast.

Yup, never been into doing that it ruins alcohol. I've had good success at educating my younger friends from doing it too.

Welcome to the board, Osborne! Glad to have you join in. You'll certainly learn from some of the knowledgeable folks here... and maybe educate a few of the rest of us in the process. A fresh viewpoint is always a good thing.
Note: you (or anybody) don't always need to drink your drams neat (no such rule exists). Most of us often do; but some drams can be a cghallenge, especially the really high-proof barrel strength monsters like George T. Stagg, or his little brother William Larue Weller. Even Booker's can be sharp for some palates. So, keep an open mind and try new things. Remember: The Journey is the Destination!
